We are in San Francisco this weekend celebrating my birthday .....so much fun! Today we ate "too much" amazing food and enjoyed a great day of shopping. One of the stores I was excited to visit is the curiosity shoppe...filled with wonderful treasures! If you are in SF you must stop in-it is an absolute treat!!!
Any other "favorites" I should visit while I'm in San Francisco?

I just adore stationary and all fabulous things for wrapping a great package!!! I have boxes and boxes-filled with wonderful paper "things" for any gifting occasion! In fact, I am usually more intrigued by how a gift is wrapped- than the gift itself!!!
So of course, I can't resist these "treasures" from knot & bow available on etsy- discovered via Anthology! So fabulous!!!

I finally broke down an ordered this adorable "pirate ship" t for my son Oden! I have been in love with it ever since I spotted it over at Tada Shop! It is pricier then I would normally spend on a t-shirt..... but I've just been obsessed!!!! I'm sure this will be Oden's new favorite!

We had a wonderful Easter celebrating with friends! The children spent most of the day swimming in the back yard and playing tag......such a perfect afternoon! This is my favorite photo of the day! My Son Oden is sneaking up on his "picture perfect" best buddy Bella- just a darling image! Hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend!

As promised here is a sneak peek of the Easter baskets I made for the kids! I must say..... I am absolutely thrilled to be ready for Easter early this year! Usually I am still working until late Saturday night!!!
I am so looking forward to watching Lucy + Oden open all of their treats! They are so excited! Oden has been counting down the days for 2 weeks! As mentioned before I found the Easter baskets and most of the candy at World Market...but feel free to ask for more detailed sourcing!
How are your Easter baskets coming?

Thought I would quickly share with you my "inspiration" for the children's easter baskets this year! I just starting to put them together today...having so much fun!
Each year I try and come up with a different easter "concept" (yes, I know I have spent too many years in retail)! This year, I was inspired by these amazing easter cards from "Rifle Paper Co"(one of my very favorite lines)! I just adore this sweet drawing and the color palette is perfection!
I will share the finished baskets with you towards the end of the week.....but a little hint- I found great easter treasures at World Market!

I'm just starting to think about Father's Day gift ideas!( I know, you might think I'm crazy....but I like to have my gift shopping complete far in advance)!
Jack Spade always has some great options! A few years ago, we bought my husband a version of this "dipped canvas bag" (which is perfect for taking stuff to the gym or even for work if your husband has a casual office).
What are you thinking of this Father's Day?

I'm loving this print by San Francisco based artist Jeff Canham available at Serena and Lily. Canham's colorful, typographic compositions are inspired by his love of surf culture and the art of vintage sign painting.
....think this would be darling in a little girl's room (also available in blue for boys)! Comes framed and ready to hang for $198! Adorable!!!!

Tec Petaja is a wonderfully talented photographer based in Nashville. I have been very fortunate to work with Tec on several occasions (Tec actually shot our log cabin for the soon to be released Design Sponge book).
The above photo is from a recent men's fashion shoot that Tec did at my house. Check out more of these beautiful images on Tec's blog!

Anyone who knows me, knows that I love to find a good bargain! I suppose that is why I prefer flea markets to design stores...I so enjoy the thrill of the hunt!!!
Summer is the perfect time to get away with "bargain" clothes and still look great. I think the key to pulling off a less expensive look is to pair your clothes with great classic (usually more expensive) accessories! This gives the appearance that the entire outfit is "high end"!
This look from Old Navy, is what I will live in all summer...so comfortable, yet pulled together and chic! I just love a simple fitted white tank paired with this gauzy gray tie skirt plus the pop of these fun aqua flip flops.
Outfit totals $47.50 plus 20% off through April 11 makes this outfit a complete steal for under $40!!!!!
To complete your "lux look", pair your bargain old navy outfit with this fabulous classic hobo bag from J Crew (love the relaxed leather with gold hardware) and pop on a few gold bangles and fabulous sunglasses and you are ready to go!!!!
The purse Brompton Hobo for $298 (also currently an additional 20% off) is a wardrobe staple that I purchased last year from J Crew along with my favorite Tory Burch sunglasses from 2 years ago- two classic pieces so worth the investment!
What is your favorite summer "bargain"?

I've been on the hunt for a practical, lightweight neutral "trench like" jacket.......
I just found this one on sale at Banana Republic for $59.99. Can't decide if I "need" it? What do you think?
It's in your hands...... I've made a deal (with myself) that if 10 of you vote "yes", that I will treat myself!!!

I just love this limited edition elephant silk-screen from Serena and Lily! Signed by the artist and framed for only $198. What an amazing deal!!!!
I might need this in my collection.....
Also, think this is great inspiration for pulling together a hip baby nursery!!!

I am a huge fan of designer Lena Corwin! I first started following Lena in 2006, after seeing her amazingly creative and inspirational wedding featured in Martha Stewart Weddings! She is a wonderfully talented illustrator (and overall creative person)! You may remember Lena's beautiful maps from Elle Decor......
Lucky for all of us she has just released this lovely book of her maps. I am also loving seeing the sneek peak of her brooklyn apartment featured on Design Sponge......so "perfectly" relaxed!

I was just doing a bit of internet research for a work project and came across these old images of some of our previous homes ..apparently the blogging world is much better at documenting my work than I am!!! So funny to see the history of our spaces evolve! Clearly I have always loved pattern and color! The above image is from Lucky magazine circa 2002!
My husband and I are currently working on pulling together design inspiration for our next house. The goal with the next project is to finally do the grown up "forever" house. I am trying desperately to go a more sophisticated grown up route...but so difficult to part with all the things we have collected over the years!
I will post "new house" inspiration soon.....
